Gordon, Lane & Co. are a long established firm of Certified Public Accountants located in Cork City Centre. Partners Denis Lane and Gary Buchan have extensive knowledge and experience in strategic planning and business restructuring and are committed to working with their Clients to help them achieve their goals.

The firm has an extensive Client base encompassing a broad range of Commercial, Industrial and Professional service sectors, with businesses spread over a large geographical area. We provide our Clients with Accounting, Auditing, Bookkeeping services including Payroll Bureau, Business advisory services, Company formation, and Taxation consultancy, including Inheritance and Estate planning. Knowing that your compliance requirements are being looked after in a professional manner, allows you more time to focus on those aspects of your business which you do best.

We are registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accounts to carry out Audit work, and are authorised to give investment business advisory services to our Clients. We are committed to providing an efficient reliable service to our Clients, and to carry on all Professional engagements in a confidential manner. We are also members of ISME, the representative body for small and medium size businesses in Ireland, and also the Cork Chamber of Commerce.

WHO WE ARE

Gary Buchan

Audit & Tax Compliance Manager

Gary is a qualified Certified Public Accountant with over a decade’s experience dealing with the financial issues of small and medium enterprises. Having trained and worked in practice during this time, he has gained a wealth of knowledge in the fields of Accounting and Taxation. Keeping up-to-date with the latest IT and business management innovations is an area that he takes a particular interest in and is experienced in the implementation of such business solutions.

Outside of office Gary is involved in various sporting activities, with a particularly keen interest in water sports he can be found enjoying time off in West Cork where he spends the summer period with his wife and young family.

Denis Lane

Consultant

Denis is a very experienced Accountant, having trained with one of the major International Practices, working subsequently in the UK, and also spending time in Industry. He has been in Practice as a founding Partner in the firm since 1978. With a broad and practical knowledge of many business types, and the solving of and providing solutions to the many Financial and Taxation problems associated with effective and successful business management. This includes Incorporated and Unincorporated entities, Partnerships, Family Businesses and Sole Traders. This considerable experience is particularly useful to draw upon in these difficult trading times.

On a personal basis, Denis is heavily involved in Theatre and Musical performance, being a Classically trained and award winning singer, he is a regular Concert performer, and has featured in many of the major Operatic productions of Opera 2005, the Cork Operatic Society, Cork’s School of Music, and other events, Nationally and overseas. On the sporting side he is a keen Tennis player and former President of Douglas Lawn Tennis Club.

Siobhan Hanlon

Audit & Taxation Manager

Siobhan is a qualified Certified Public Accountant, having been admitted to full membership in 2005. Siobhan has been in practice throughout her working life, having gained an in depth knowledge of Business, Taxation and the many other issues facing individuals and SMEs. She works closely with our clients, to assist them with their various business needs by applying this experience in finding practical and effective solutions.

Jennifer O’Flynn

Audit & Taxation Senior

Jennifer is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants having joined the practice in 2004 from overseas. Jennifer is a valuable member of our team with detailed and practical knowledge of the Taxation and Accounting issues facing individuals and SME owners having developed a professional relationship with the clients of the Practice.

Gerard Murphy

Accountancy & Payroll

Ger is a vastly experienced and qualified book-keeper, with an in-depth knowledge of VAT, Intersat and Nominal Ledge processing. Ger is a member of the Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland and has worked in practice for 20 years. Ger also specialises in Payroll, is up to date with the issues facing employers in Ireland, and is on hand to provide practical advice to our clients.
